French Macarons Galore | My Macaron Journey

French Macarons Galore!

I’m here! I really am here. I’ve been so busy behind the scenes that my blog has been sorely neglected. With having two kids–a newborn and a toddler–productive awake time is slim to none. And whatever time I do have, I’m either cooking, cleaning, changing dirty diapers, etc… You get the picture. So, despite what it looks like on my blog, I still have been very active photographically… I just haven’t posted many online. So, I’m here to try and rectify that!

So, today’s blog post will highlight my newest obsession: French Macarons. I am not so sure what makes me so fond of these delightful little cookies. It could be that they’re difficult to get right consistently and befuddle even the experienced culinary cooks. I like challenges. In fact, I really like challenges. That might be what draws me to them. So, over the past few weeks, I’ve been trying out an assortment of different recipes and flavors of these cookies. I never thought that my cookie craze would amount to much, but, much to my astonishment, I’ve made between 25-30 dozen of these cookies for other people–let alone all of the cookies that have expanded my postpartum waistline. I’m not yet back to pre-kid weight, but I’ll blame it on my kids and not on all the cookies I’ve eaten… Shhh… It’s our secret. Although, to that note, I have run my first 5k this summer! Woot Woot! I plan on running many more. Let’s be honest… I workout so I can eat cookies… Haha!

Anyway, now that the rambling is over, I’ll let you feast your eyes on my most recent French macaron adventures. Maybe, if you ask politely enough, I’ll share a few of the tips and tricks I’ve learned over the past few weeks mastering these delicacies.
